How to: Use WorkSignals to carry out an equipment inspection
WorkSignals has the ability to easily add pieces of equipment and inspect them as required.
In this video, we will carry out an inspection on an existing asset in our organisation by scanning an asset tag.
Scan the asset
The asset has a QR Code label in the location, ready for any WorkSignals user to bring up the asset screen in app.
The QR Code label is scanned. We then select 'Inspections', 'Create new Inspection'.
Carrying out the inspection
The inspection is a great way to take a snapshot of this asset at this point in time.
For each question in this inspection, we answer YES, NO, or NA. There can be other types of questions as well - such as a rating system 1-5, free text entry, create a task or add a signature.
We also attach evidence to each question. This helps when asking for remediation, or for audit trail purposes later. The evidence is not strictly required in this case.
Finalising the inspection
After answering each question and uploading evidence, we save the inspection. We're asked if the inspection is completed. If the inspection is completed, the score is calculated and assigned to the asset.
Reporting on inspections
Across the other assets in this category and across the organisation, scores over time are available for reporting and trend analysis for the business. Making scores available to the responsible teams is helpful to increase trends across the business.
